History of Oak Creek

Oak Creek began as a portion of the Town of Lake, which included all of Milwaukee County south of what is now Greenfield Avenue. In 1840, what is now Oak Creek split off from the Town of Kinnikennick (present day Greenfield and Franklin) to become its own entity. Today, Oak Creek is one of the most desirable neighborhoods just minutes from downtown Milwaukee that provides a unique combination of urban conveniences and rural comfort.
