The Village of Cascade was named after Cascade Falls in Colorado. The major ancestry groups reported by Cascade residents include: German 50%, Irish 13%, Dutch 5%, English 5%. With the construction of two 100-watt wind turbines in June 2010, Cascade became the first community in Wisconsin to use locally produced wind energy to power its municipal wastewater treatment plant.
