Kenosha, Wisconsin Real Estate

The city of Kenosha is home to roughly 100,000 residents and sits just above the Wisconsin-Illinois border. It’s the county seat of Kenosha County and the fourth largest city in Wisconsin. Kenosha is conveniently located between two of the largest metropolitan areas in the Midwest – Chicago and Milwaukee. Not only is Kenosha a hotspot for local activity, it is also a great place to live and work.

Kenosha has a bustling business community, fueled by major employers such as Jockey International, Uline, Inc., Aurora Health Care and many more. Dedicated business networking groups like KABA exemplify the mindset of this progressive community.

Kenosha also has a great residential community, with many neighborhoods in close proximity to excellent shopping hotspots and recreational haunts. Located just minutes away from Kenosha are the Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets, featuring 90 stores. Some of the shops include Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Coach, Cole Haan, Hugo Boss, J. Crew, Juicy Couture, Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sony and more.

The city of Kenosha has much to do in the area of recreation. It has numerous parks offering athletics such as tennis, basketball and baseball, in addition to outdoor activities like fishing, swimming and biking. Kenosha is also home to the largest municipal recreation facility in America – the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex. The RecPlex has over 300,000 square feet of fitness, including an 80,000 square foot ice arena and a 50-meter Olympic-sized competition pool.

When not engaged in physical recreation, locals frequent other city-based attractions such as the many events held throughout the year, including the Taste of Wisconsin, HarborPark Jazz & Blues Fest and the Renaissance Faire. The Taste of Wisconsin is held in July and hosts roughly 30,000 guests each year, all whom enjoy a weekend of the best food and beverage Wisconsin has to offer. For music lovers, the HarborPark Jazz & Blues Fest makes for an excellent evening. It features national and regional jazz and blues artists, and attracts thousands of visitors each year from all parts of Wisconsin and Illinois. Want to take a stroll through 16th century England? Visit the famous Renaissance Faire, a festival held during the summer featuring remnants of the period in time we call the Renaissance.

Another local attraction is the prestigious Kenosha Public Museum, a natural sciences and decorative arts museum. The museum holds many existing exhibits, including world cultures, zoology, geology, fossils and fine and decorative arts.

The housing landscape is also something to admire. Take a glance at the Kenosha County Housing Profile.
