Koshkonong Estates is one of the newly developed subdivisions with lots for sale ranging from $45,000 – $60,000. The Koshkonong Estates is located at the edge of town and very close to the Highway 26 bypass. Another subdivision would be Twin Knolls that has an average price of $42,000. Area golf courses offer a unique and challenging experience to beginners and veterans of the game. Koshkonong Mounds Golf Course is one Wisconsin’s most charming courses. The course has 11 rare Native American effigy mounds incorporated into the 18-hole course. Spring Creek Golf Course features, a par-3 layout and triple-tee placements for everyone to enjoy. The action sports enthusiasts can go skydiving at the Atmosphair Skydiving Center. The center is a popular attraction that has customers trained and jumping from airplanes in one day. The parks and recreation department provides activities for all seasons that the whole family can enjoy.

History
Fort Atkinson was named after the commander of the United States forces during the Black Hawk War. A key historic feature near Fort Atkinson is the cluster of Native American mounds that are named the General Atkinson Mound Group. The preserved mounds are located at nearby Aztalan State Park. Various mounds are effigy mounds that look like birds and turtles. A featured mound is a 125-foot long panther intaglio west of the town. Main Street and Merchants Avenue showcase historic features of the town.
