Several people from Shorewest, Realtors® served meals at the St. Vincent Meal Program in December.
The St. Vincent Meal Program serves meals six days a week in two areas (south side and the north side on Martin Luther King Drive). In 2009, they served 145,458 meals, serving 1,903 homeless people (1,537 men and 466 women). That’s about 350 meals per night on the south side and 110 meals on the north side.
Volunteers from churches and organizations such as Shorewest put in more than 15,000 hours a year to prepare and serve the meals.
