Having clean windows and getting a nice crisp view of your backyard is important… but spending a full day cleaning can be tedious. Here are some great tips from professionals on cleaning your windows:
- It’s best to clean your windows on a cloudy day. If the sun is out, it dries your window and the cleaner too fast and leaves streaks.
- Remove all the window screens before you begin. Once you move to the exterior, it will save you time.
- Start with the second-story windows first. Water and soap will drip.
- Wear old clothes. You might get wet!
- When rinsing your windows, work top to bottom.
It can be difficult to clean those hard to reach windows. Professionals recommend:
- Attach your garden hose to the bottle of cleaner and spray window.
- Turn nozzle to clean and spray suds from bottom of window to top. Do not allow suds to dry.
- Rinse with hose and spray from top to bottom to ensure suds are removed.

- Spray the window with the garden hose to wet.
- Use a cleaning pad and hose together to wash windows. Wipe and scrub your windows with the cleaning pad in all directions.
- Rinse immediately so the suds don’t dry.
