John O'Brien

Growing up in the Midwest I spent many summers in Lake Geneva. I have many fond memories enjoying the relaxing time spent boating on Geneva Lake or hanging out in the town of Lake Geneva. Now that I am a realtor with Shorewest I would like to help you find those same memories.

My background before real estate is in architecture and interior design. I have a BFA in Interior Architecture from NIU and my MA in Historic Preservation from SCAD. Because of this I am able to walk my clients through any property demonstrating to them the potential of the subject property’s current value and future as their “dream home.” Another trait I take from my previous life in the Corporate world is my ability to work with a variety of personalities. Sellers have an emotional attachment to their homes and sometimes this can overshadow their decision making. My job is to take that emotion out and guide them to making the right decision to sell their home. Similarly, buyers experience the same roadblocks. My job is to weigh the pros and cons for each home they preview so in the end, they've reached the best decision when it comes to that dream house. Also, like most people, I love a good value. This comes into play when presenting an educated offer that is the best for you and your chosen home.

So whether you’re in the market to sell your home or buy a new home or possibly both, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you in what is possibly the biggest decision you will make in your lifetime.
