History
Established in 1872, the area was donated by Pete Martin and Peter Paulus to Milwaukee and the Northern Railway Corporation. Formerly known as Stony Creek, the area was used for railroad tracks and a depot. The definition of Fredonia is “free gifts” or “the land where things are done freely.”
