When decorating your home, you might find yourself looking for that one unique, stand-out piece. Instead of going to your local home goods store, why not try something really extraordinary? Summer is the perfect time to explore all the local artistry that Wisconsin has to offer by visiting one of these awesome community craft fairs!

Firefly Art Fair- Wauwatosa (August 6th and 7th)

Held in the Victorian gardens of the Kneeland Walker house, a historical landmark in the city of Wauwatosa, this craft fair features gorgeous art from creators both near and far. This craft fair does have an entrance fee of $10, but all proceeds go to the Wisconsin Historical Society. Purchase something special to bring home, participate in a silent auction or just enjoy a beautiful day in a garden while viewing hand crafted pieces!

Morning Glory Art Fair- Milwaukee (August 13th and 14th)

Voted one of the Top Art Fairs in the Midwest, this gigantic event boasts over 130 different local vendors with varying styles of art available for purchase! From traditional paintings and ceramics to woodworking and wearable pieces, you’re sure to find something you love at this major downtown event. This fair is definitely not one to miss.

Art in the Park- Lake Geneva (August 13th and 14th)

Located in the heart of Lake Geneva, this art festival is ideal for families looking for a fun weekend activity. For the adults, there is a silent auction where you can bid on the beautiful pieces that you see at this event. For the kids, why not try the “Make and Take” project? Your child can bring their art home and display it as their own creative addition to the house! They’ll have something they’re proud to show off, and you will have your very own piece of art from the fair created by your favorite artist(s).

Oconomowoc Festival of the Arts (August 20th and 21st)

An annual festival held in downtown Oconomowoc, this fair is meant to foster awareness of the arts through artist scholarships, donated sculptures, and youth programs in the community. You can browse hand crafted pieces while being serenaded by performances from local entertainers, take your child to the interactive kids area and of course snack on food from multiple local vendors. This fair is completely volunteer run and has been around for over 50 years, so you know it has to be good!

Art and Chalk Fest 2022- West Bend (August 20th and 21st)

Join the Museum of Wisconsin Art in Downtown West Bend as they celebrate all things hands-on at the 2022 Art and Chalk Fest! This art festival includes free admission to the museum on both days of the festival, as well as beautiful live demonstrations of glassblowing, pottery and more. Of course, you can’t leave the festival without a handmade piece by a local artist, something crafted in the Family Activity Zone or without participating in the community chalk project! Food trucks and a beer garden will be on location as well, so you have no reason not to spend the whole weekend immersed in mind blowing artistic creations.
