Theresa is a village in Dodge County located seventeen miles south of Fond du Lac. The area sits on the beautiful Rock River and has a diverse population of wildlife. Home to over 1,300 residents, Theresa has the quintessential small-village charm.

When Theresa was founded, it flourished with new business. Hotels, restaurants, breweries and lumber and grain mills sprang up and thrived. Today, you will still see some of the businesses of that time up and running; namely, a local bank and – a favorite amongst visitors and locals alike – Widmer’s Cheese Factory.

Some of the local attractions held throughout the year in Theresa include Community Band Concerts, the Annual Firemen’s Picnic & Parade, a “Tractor Pull,” and the Theresa American Legion & Auxiliary Pioneer Day.

History

Solomon Juneau, a French Trader from Milwaukee, was traveling to Green Bay and came to notice the area now known as Theresa. With its fertile soil, expansive land and beautiful river, he immediately recognized the area’s potential and in 1846, founded the Village of Theresa.
